Working in the Sawmill – (Selling Among Wolves)

Many of us are called into the world of commerce. It’s our mission field and our livelihood. It’s full of risk and noise and potential reward. It’s a sawmill – run by wolves.

Sawmill

In that world, there are sheep and there are wolves. There are some wolves in sheep’s clothing and some sheep in wolves clothing. It’s a confusing world to be sure and it’s hard to know whom to trust.

When I first entered that world as a sheep, I was trained in the ways of the wolf and was promised that if I went along with their system, I would go far. But nobody told me it was the “way” of the wolf; I was just told it was the “way” things were done.

The system or “way” of doing things appears to have little resistance. It’s a buzz saw. It’s the status quo. To find a “way” contrary to the status quo and attempt to operate within the system is not for the faint of heart. The roar of the buzz saw is never far away and the floor is littered with the body parts of those who either ignored the buzz saw or were ignorant of how it really worked.

Enter the Lamb of God. He’s partial to working with wood. He’s a carpenter, and His Dad owns the sawmill. He saw the “way” things were being handled in the sawmill and not only claimed there was a better way, but He insisted that He Himself was THE WAY. The common people put their hope in Him. Some had lost limbs to the system, while others had lost their lives.

Could it be that Jesus Christ really was the Son of the Owner? Could it be that He really did have a better way and it was Him? Could we trust Him to lay our burdens down at His feet and put ourselves in His yoke? Would we really be better off? What if the wolves found out that we were still going to work in the sawmill but no longer accepted their leadership? How would they react?

Are you ready to sell among wolves – without joining the pack? Now you can learn how in my book (Selling Among Wolves) or with my Audio Coaching Program. Both are available with or without financial contribution. That choice is yours. I just want to help.

It harder to work contrary to the “way” of the wolf when we are part of that same system (i.e. up to our eyeballs in consumer debt). We need to get out of that trap, then we will have more confidence to say no to the “wolf”. 🙂

You hit on something very significant we will be discussing in upcoming online events and on this blog. It is the fact that 98% of Americans are wage slaves. If their wage stopped, they would be in a huge problem. We can turn the tables on that I believe. It takes disentangling from the unjust systems that we sometimes get caught in. It takes learning how to have mastery over resources. There’s more but that’s for a future time. God bless you this fine Resurrection day Daniel!
