I landed a job selling copiers in middle TN in 1986 where I was given a goal of 6 sales my first quarter and told to expect a 25% closing rate. Sound familiar?
I reasoned, “What farmer plants 4 rows of corn and then prays that only 1 of them comes up?” Unwilling to accept a 75%Â failure rate, I picked up my Bible and pledged that I would find Biblical principles and strategies that I could apply to the sales process and instead of selling 1 out of 4, I intended to sell 1 out of 1.
Absolutely unheard of…
In earnest, I searched out the Scriptures and began to apply them. I finished my first 90 days with 22 sales from 22 presentations and ended the year maintaining a roughly 92% closing rate while setting a record for most copiers sold in a single year!
It was that experience that lit my passion to study and learn God’s Word and apply it to sales and business. That passion, which burns in me to this day, is what led me to uncover the Old Testament blueprint, that I like to say, is the key to everything!
