Water Damage to Church Roof Shows Crucifixion

A local pastor called a roofing company to replace their aging roof. When the roofing company arrived they were startled to see this amazing watermark and called it to the pastor’s attention.

Pastor Rodney Howard-Browne whose entire focus is on bringing souls to Jesus was blown away by what he saw when he went on Google and zoomed in on The River of Tampa Bay (his church). The second photo shows the entire church structure from Google Earth’s vantage point. pic of Jesus

There were three things that followed the preaching of the gospel as we see recorded in Scripture. They were signs, wonders and miracles, which in my opinion serve three different and distinct purposes, though they also overlap.

2nd pic of JesusA sign is something God orchestrates to communicate a message which has clear meaning for the intended recipients of that message but is often missed by the skeptic or hard hearted.

When Jesus came into Jerusalem for Passover, God spoke audibly in the presence of many. Some understood the voice. Others only thought it was thunder and dismissed it. That still happens today.

A miracle is something done which defies natural explanation but is undeniable. Examples include the parting of the Red Sea, the opening of blind eyes and the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. A wonder however is one of those things that make you scratch your head and say, “What was that?” It leaves you wondering. You saw it with your own eyes but it makes no sense to you. Invariably it leads to discussion with others and many investigate God because of it. It also may leave you in total awe and wonderment. Either way, it gets you thinking!

Many will miss the message in this sign because they don’t like or agree with that church or because they have a negative attitude towards the gospel. When Jesus explained the voice to the crowd around Him, He told them the voice was not for His benefit, but for their benefit.

I would submit that this unusual sign was not for the benefit of that pastor but is a sign & wonder to stir the consideration of the claims of Jesus Christ in the hearts of many. What do you think this is about? I would value input from you and those in your circle, so please share this with your friends and ask them to comment as well.

  • I agree re: signs are to bring our attention to God Himself and not to be the thing we rely on. The Magi / Wise men came to see Jesus after his birth by recognizing the signs in the heavens ( the Bethlehem Star ).

  • Hello this is kind of of off topic but I was wanting to know if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML. I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding experience so I wanted to get guidance from someone with experience. Any help would be enormously appreciated!

  • The roof section to the right looks to me like a man looking toward the cross, maybe even one of the disciples. He is looking from a short distance away, but very intently. What do you think?
